A full 85% of executives rank engagement as a top priority for business and human resources, according to Deloitte’s report, ‘Global Human Capital Trends 2016 – The new organisation: Different by design’. However, only 46% of the 7,000 companies surveyed in 130 countries believe their organisations are prepared to deal with employee engagement challenges.
The report explores 10 issues that are having a profound impact on the way organisations approach people management: engagement, culture, learning, leadership, design thinking, workforce management, people analytics, organisational design, digital human resources (HR) and HR organisations’ changing skills.
Deloitte’s analysis shows that, faced with accelerating innovation, omnipresent technologies that rearrange work and a multigenerational and diverse workforce, leaders are redesigning organisations to make them more agile, as well as to attract, mobilise and retain talent. Culture is increasingly recognised as an asset, while digital tools, inclusion and collaboration have become fundamental in an employee-centric work environment.
