Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the most innovative leader in the world, according to the Forbes 2019 list of most innovative leaders. Tesla’s Elon Musk placed second, while founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, was considered the third leader with the greatest innovation capital today.
The top 10 finishers, part of Forbes’ 100 most innovative leaders ranking to be published later this month, was compiled based on four essential qualities: reputation for innovation, social connections and networks, track record for value creation and investor expectations for future value creation.
The list was compiled by Jeff Dyer of Brigham Young University and Nathan Furr of the INSEAD business school, founding their selection on “innovation capital”: a combination of strengths from skills at leading innovation to powerful connections with other leaders, as well as an ever-growing record of making big new things happen.
